Every home begins with the people who live in it. At 635B Senja Road, the vision was for a modern, contemporary home with a sense of warmth and ease. A restrained palette of greige, taupe and walnut is paired with considered black accents, creating contrast while keeping the spaces calm, cohesive and timeless.
The homeowners’ appreciation for nature informed the material choices throughout. Stone-inspired textures, soft timber tones and travertine finishes bring an organic quality to the home, while black ledges, frames and sliding-door details give the interiors a clean, contemporary edge. The result is a home that feels refined without being overly formal or trend-led.
Designed around everyday living and welcoming guests, the living and dining spaces balance openness with purpose. The window-side TV console creates a distinctive focal point, allowing the family to enjoy meals, television and conversation in one connected setting. Custom-built cabinetry, including the TV console, kitchen cabinetry, wardrobes and concealed doors, keeps each area sleek, practical and visually unified.
The kitchen continues the home’s quiet material story with warm cabinetry, white sintered-stone surfaces and subtle lighting details. An underused area in the original layout was thoughtfully transformed into a dry pantry, adding useful storage and a dedicated space for everyday rituals. Elsewhere, a recessed wall in the main bedroom was resolved with a feature treatment, creating a more balanced and considered backdrop.
Flexibility was equally important to the homeowners. A compact room was planned as a temporary bedroom for a family member, with the ability to open it up again when their needs change. Together, these details create a home that is contemporary yet lived-in. Designed to support the family now, while adapting gracefully over time.
