Designed as a quiet retreat from the pace of everyday life, this restored home reflects the homeowners' desire for a space that feels deeply personal and lived in. Warm earthy tones, tactile materials, and carefully collected pieces honour the home's original character while thoughtfully adapting it for modern living, where nostalgia sits comfortably alongside the present.
The foyer creates a gentle transition into the home, balancing privacy with openness. A secondary entrance, enclosed by a sliding door with textured glass, provides privacy while allowing the homeowners and their dogs to move comfortably through the space.
Glass blocks filter natural light into the entryway, while terracotta-toned tiles introduces the warmth that continues throughout the home. Personal décor add character, offering a glimpse into the lives of those who call it home.
Stepping into the main living area, familiar references to local heritage are reinterpreted through a contemporary lens. A traditional kopitiam-style dining setting sits comfortably alongside clean-lined furnishings, while capsule-inspired window grilles and vintage-inspired wall sconces quietly reference Singapore's architectural past.
From nostalgic memorabilia to restored vintage pieces, carefully curated collections reflect the homeowners' memories and add a deeply personal character to the space.
Inspired by the homeowner's previous work, the bespoke kopi cart brings a cherished memory into the home. More than a dedicated coffee station, it serves as a natural gathering point for quiet mornings and time shared with family and friends.
The common bathroom continues the home's nostalgic character through a reinterpretation of traditional coffee shop restrooms. Jade Peranakan breeze blocks extend the dry area to provide greater privacy from the adjoining living spaces while introducing a subtle reference to Singapore's architectural heritage. Adding colour, texture, and character, they become one of the home's most memorable features.
The kitchen pairs terracotta-coloured cabinetry with crisp white tiled backsplashes and contrasting grout, while light oak flooring brings warmth and balance to the space. White floor tiles continue into the adjoining feeding area, creating a practical, easy-to-maintain surface for the homeowners. Beyond the kitchen, the former service yard was reimagined around their daily care, with ample ventilation and easy access to water.
The master bedroom adopts a quieter, more intimate palette. Combining one of the common bedrooms with the master created space for a dedicated walk-in wardrobe and vanity, supporting the homeowners' daily routines. Woven rattan wardrobe panels introduce subtle texture, while darker timber finishes and soft sage green accents in the bedroom bring warmth and depth to the space.
Continuing into the master bathroom, lighter wall tiles, green subway tiles, and softly illuminated wall sconces create a seamless continuation of the bedroom's material palette, resulting in a space that feels calm, comfortable, and inviting.
