Designed for a young family, this older home was transformed into a minimalist space centred on clarity, functionality, and comfort. Every design decision was guided by the family's evolving needs, balancing practical living with a timeless material palette that will adapt alongside them.
The living room establishes the home's minimalist design language through thoughtful spatial planning and a restrained material palette. Engineered wood flooring creates a warm foundation, while sheer day curtains from Everyday Curtains soften natural light, enhancing the home's bright and airy atmosphere. A curved TV feature wall introduces a softer design language, while curved steps respond to the home's existing levels, creating a gentle transition into the dining area.
In the dining area, an antique table passed down through the family was retained and given new life with a Dekton top from Cosentino, preserving its original character while allowing it to become part of the home's next chapter. By reimagining a treasured heirloom rather than replacing it, the design celebrates the stories it carries while ensuring it continues creating memories for generations to come.
The kitchen continues the home's understated design language through a thoughtful mix of materials and textures. Travertine-inspired Dekton surfaces from Cosentino extend across the dry and wet areas, creating a seamless finish that brings depth to the space. Integrated storage and display cabinetry were designed around the homeowners' collection of spirits, creating a practical yet welcoming setting for entertaining family and friends.
The master bedroom is designed as a calm personal space, with clean lines, soft finishes, and an uncluttered layout creating a sense of ease. An arched feature wall introduces a subtle architectural detail, while warm LED lighting and wall sconces create a softer ambience for moments of rest and relaxation.
The master bathroom continues the home's minimalist language through clean forms and carefully balanced materials. Integrated Cosentino sinks create seamless surfaces that reinforce the simplicity of the space, while textured wall tiles introduce subtle variation and visual interest. Together, these details bring the home's design language together, balancing intentional design with the practical needs of family living.
