Designed around the homeowners' vision of a bright, elegant and inviting home, this renovation draws inspiration from the quiet comfort of a luxury hotel. Soft neutrals, natural textures and layered lighting create a calm, welcoming atmosphere, transforming the home's former industrial aesthetic into one that feels warm and timeless.
Framed by large bi-fold windows, the living room is filled with natural light throughout the day. Roman blinds from Everyday Curtains soften the sunlight when needed, keeping the space bright without feeling harsh. Warm beige tones, textured feature tiles above the piano, a brown leather sofa from King Living and a raw textured side table come together to create a calm and inviting atmosphere.
To carry this sense of quiet luxury throughout the home, large-format tiles extend from the living area into the kitchen, creating a seamless visual flow between the spaces. The installation required precise workmanship to achieve the clean, uninterrupted finish.
Space was carefully planned to accommodate both everyday living and gatherings. A built-in dining settee and extended bar countertop makes better use of the layout, comfortably seating more people while keeping the space open.
Paired with a round travertine-inspired table and a timeless pendant light, the dining area becomes a place for quiet meals, working from home and spending time together.
The kitchen continues the material palette with a travertine-inspired countertop, wood laminates and textured cabinetry from Lamitak. The combination introduces warmth while maintaining the clean, understated look carried throughout the home.
A pull-down storage system improves accessibility, while a custom appliance unit divides the kitchen from the service yard. It houses a built-in oven, microwave and washing machine, also concealing the existing piping and provides additional storage for larger household essentials.
Working from home was an important consideration for the homeowners. To create enough space for both a generous wardrobe and a dedicated study, one of the common bedrooms was incorporated into the master bedroom.
Accessed through a concealed door in the master bedroom, it is disguised as a magazine display shelf, the study blends naturally into the surrounding carpentry. A built-in vanity by the window makes full use of the natural light, creating a comfortable space for the daily routine.
Fluted glass doors soften the light entering from the bathroom, creating a gentle transition between the bedroom and bathroom while maintaining privacy. The master bathroom balances practicality with simple detailing. A full-height niche wall provides storage while separating the wet and dry zones, with glass block detailing bringing additional light into the space.
